Email from the Association of West Midlands Motor Clubs, regarding training of Safeguarding Officers for member clubs:
“I can now share further information about Motorsport UK’s new course for Club Safeguarding Officers.
Information on our trainers is attached, they all have huge amounts of experience of both motorsport and safeguarding and are keen to begin delivering this new course.
The course aims to support Club Safeguarding Officers by:
• Developing their knowledge in relation to legal duties and responsibilities of safeguarding,
• Building their confidence in the practical aspects of the role,
• Increasing awareness of how to recognise, respond to and report risks in the motorsport environment.
Some dates for the course are live on our website already, with more dates being added on a regular basis – https://www.motorsportuk.org/the-sport/safeguarding/safeguarding-training/
Please can you share this information with your clubs and encourage their Safeguarding Officers to book a place.
We are also promoting the courses directly to the Club Safeguarding Officers so hopefully our combined approaches will ensure that our messages reach their intended audiences.
If you have any questions please do get in touch.
Thank you for your support,
Amy”
