NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CAR TRIALS (Proposed effective date – 2023)

with the hope they will be adopted by other championships

For some years now the parties responsible for the Motorsport UK British and the BTRDA Car Trials Championships have reviewed the 1998 cut-off point for Class 1 eligible cars (2wd production cars carrying no ballast) and, taking account of the uptake of cars in Class 3, came to the conclusion that a full review of all class definitions was due.

A working party reflecting competitor and organiser interest, with a wide geographical spread, was formed to recommend any changes thought to be right for the onward success of these championships. That group has now reached a point whereby it is timely to engage with competitors past and present, together with event organisers, to put their ideas on the table for wider consideration.

Please see the attached document, which sets out the bare bones of the working party’s conclusions to date, for your deliberation and thoughts.

To consolidate your essential feedback we have devised a brief Survey Monkey survey, which you can access here. We would be most grateful for a couple of minutes of your time in completing the survey, which will remain open until 11 March 2022. It may be helpful if you print the proposals document and have it to hand when completing the survey.

Apologies if you receive more than one version of this email; the survey will only accept one response from you so please delete any duplicate emails.

If you do not wish to be consulted further on this matter, please reply to this email with “cease” added to the subject line.

Thank you for your time.

On behalf of both national championships
